Overview
Multi-user is a feature within our Advanced Management Tools whereby a Webnames account can be accessed by more than one user account. Key benefits include proper authenticated access for each individual accessing an account, without the need to share login information between individuals.
Setup
User accounts are created by the primary account owner via the following steps
- Navigate to My Account > Manage Users
New User Invitation
- An invitation is created and sent via email to the intended individual. As part of the setup you can optionally specify:
- User Role
- Secure invite with a password
- Force the new User to use two-factor authentication as part of their User account.
- The email received by the recipient contains basic details about the invite
New User Setup
- By following a link within the invite, the individual is prompted to create their own User account.
- This User Account will then have access to the Webnames account which initiated the invitation
User Roles and Permissions
Each User Account can be assigned a Role. Currently available Roles and related Permissions are details on the following page: https://www.webnames.ca/myaccount/role-permissions
Important Notes about User Accounts
- All types of User Accounts have access to any Child Accounts, if present underneath the Primary Webnames Account
- Only the Account Owner can create User Accounts
- User Accounts can each only access one Webnames Account
